RACHEL FLEISHMAN SPEAKS AT ABA SPRING 2021 NATIONAL LEGAL MALPRACTICE CONFERENCE
On April 15, 2021, Reid Collins Partner Rachel Fleishman was a featured panelist at the ABA’s Spring 2021 National Legal Malpractice Virtual Conference where she drew on her substantial experience litigating legal malpractice claims to offer insights on the complicated and sensitive issues arising from the interplay between attorney fee disputes and legal malpractice claims. The panel, entitled “Coin of the Realm: When an LPL Claim Includes Attorney Fee Claims,” addressed conflict issues raised by fee disputes, best practices for managing affirmative fee claims brought by an attorney against his client, and fee shifting provisions that award attorney fees to the prevailing party in a legal malpractice lawsuit.
Ms. Fleishman, resident in the Firm’s New York Office, has substantial experience litigating legal malpractice claims against some of the country’s largest and most prominent law firms. In addition to her professional liability practice, Ms. Fleishman represents corporations, investment funds, litigation trusts, bankruptcy trustees, and other fiduciaries in pursuing negligence, fraud, and clawback claims against law firms, accounting firms, and former officers and directors, among other defendants.
