TEXAS LAWYER NAMES REID COLLINS PARTNER KEITH COHAN 2024 PRO BONO ATTORNEY OF THE YEAR – TEXAS LEGAL AWARDS
Texas Lawyer and Law.com named Partner Keith Y. Cohan the 2024 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year at the Texas Legal Awards Dinner in Dallas on October 15.
The award recognizes a lawyer who has had inspiring success in a pro bono case or who has dedicated a notable amount of time to pro bono work and achieved meaningful results. In partnership with the ACLU of Louisiana’s Justice Lab Initiative challenging discriminatory policing, Keith represents Teliah Perkins and her son De’Shaun Johnson in civil rights cases
arising from the violent arrest of Ms. Perkins in her own driveway for alleged minor traffic violations. At De’Shaun’s May 2024 trial in Louisiana federal court, Keith—along with Reid Collins attorneys Ryan Goldstein, Emma Culotta, and Sean Johnson—obtained the first jury verdict victory in the history of Justice Lab, winning a $185,000 award for intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Managing Partner Lisa S. Tsai and Reid Collins & Tsai LLP as a firm were also recognized by Texas Lawyer, with Tsai being named a finalist for Influential Woman of the Year and the firm as a finalist in the General Litigation Department of the Year category.
